Message from the Board Chair, Don Drone

The Guelph Police Services Board is pleased to release its Strategic Plan for the next three years. The work imbedded in the Plan has included input from community stakeholders, the civilian and uniform members of Guelph Police Service and the senior management group of the Service. Each of these constituencies provided both time and insight as to improvements that we can make in serving the citizens of Guelph.

Our Board (Mayor Guthrie, Councilor Billings, Robert Carter, Rod Curran and myself) are committed to this plan and offer our sincere thanks to all contributors whose input is relevant to our future work. We live in a safe community and our surveys indicate that the vast majority in our community are very supportive of the work of Guelph Police. However, we acknowledge the challenges before us to further enhance this support. Therefore, we have identified six key areas of concentration for the coming years. The progress in each of these will be measured with quantifiable results.

Our primary role in governance and a commitment to community safety mandates that we continue to seek the support of our many diverse community partners whose collaboration is essential to the success of this plan. We have a stellar history of positive and meaningful partnerships. This will clearly continue.

Please take some time to review the plan and remember that your input into its operation is always welcome.
