Why a BEAT Team?

Your Car is The Key

Who is the BEAT Team?

In recent years, the City of Guelph has seen a significant rise in break and enters and auto thefts.  In 2016, The Insurance Bureau of Canada reported a 49.6% increase in stolen automobiles in the City of Guelph, the highest increase in all of Canada. Offenders operating stolen automobiles regularly flee from marked police vehicles, at high speeds, resulting in a serious risk to public safety.  In January of 2019, in an effort to combat the increase in property crime, the Guelph Police Service formed the Break and Enter & Auto Theft team (B.E.A.T.).

If you think any of this property may be yours, please email Detective Sgt Carrie Gale.
