The Guelph Police Service is happy to join a growing worldwide movement which brings officers and community members together in an informal setting around a common interest – a cup of coffee.

The first Coffee With a Cop was launched in Hawthorne, California in 2011 when officers with the Hawthorne Police Department were looking for ways to more successfully interact with their community.

Coffee With a Cop events are now held across North America and the program has expanded to Europe, Australia, Africa and Latin America. The key to the program’s success is that it opens doors for interactions outside of the crisis situations which often bring police officers and community members together.

If you would like more information about Coffee With a Cop, or to register for an upcoming session, please contact Constable Paul Hinchliffe at phinchliffe@guelphpolice.ca.
