Join the School Safety Patrol |
The School Safety Patrol reminds all students of how to cross the street safely and prevents them from crossing when it is not safe. Talk to your school’s designated School Safety Patrol Supervisor to learn how to join your patrol team. Your Supervisor will assign you a post, set your schedule, and provide you with equipment. Safety Patrol Responsibilities include:

School Presentations JK-Grade 5
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Guelph Police Service School Safety Unit is offering virtual presentations:
JK/SK/Grade 1 – Community Helpers
Introduces students to Safe People within our community:
- Police
- Firefighters
- Paramedics
Learn how to identify them and learn about their tools vehicles and Uniform.
Time: 15 – 20 minutes
Grade 2 – Personal Safety
- Define safe people
- Tricks “Bad” people use
- Importance of yelling “Help, this is not my Mom/Dad”
Time: 30 – 45 minutes
Grade 3 – Personal Safety
- Review safe people
- Teach personal safety rules
- Check first, take a friend, say ‘No’ and talk to a trusted adult

Grade 4 & 5 – Online Safety
- Teach online safety
- Protecting your personal information
- Learn how to use social networking safely
- Security settings
- Online dangers
