V.I.P. is an awareness program that benefits grade 6-8 students by discussing essential personal values and the importance of:

  • Making good decisions
  • Taking responsibility for their actions
  • Understanding peer pressure
  • Self-respect and self-confidence
  • Respect for others

Subjects Covered

V.I.P. combines the resources of the local boards of education, the Guelph Police Service and various community organizations to teach the students these values.

The following is a breakdown of V.I.P. topics:

Grade 6

  • Drug awareness
  • Bullying / Cyber Bullying & Internet Safety
  • Peer Pressure
  • V.I.P. celebrations

Grade 7

  • Drug awareness extension
  • Internet, mobile and social networking safety

Grade 8

  • Sexting
  • High School Resource Officer introduction.
  • Youth and the law
  • Open forum
