Update On Sexual Assault Investigation At Riverside Park

On July 28th, 2019, the Guelph Police Service released information about a sexual assault that occurred on July 26th, 2019, at Riverside Park located at 709 Woolwich Street, Guelph.  The suspect male was described as East Indian, 50-60 years old, thin build, wearing black sunglasses, grey shirt and spoke with a slight Indian accent.  He had his young grandson with him. 

As a result of that press release the following was learned:

-On July 22nd, 2019, at approximately 9:30am a male matching the same description approached another female and sexually assaulted her.  The female was not injured.

 -On July 26th, 2019, at approximately 11:10am a male matching the same description approached another female and sexually assaulted her.  The female was not injured.

On August 8th, 2019, the accused was arrested for 2 additional counts of sexual assault.

Break, Enter And Theft Of Jewelry

Sometime between August 6th and 8th, 2019, a residence near the downtown area of the city was entered. A gold necklace with a cross was taken.

Break, Enter And Theft From Business

Sometime between August 1st and 8th, 2019, a business on the north end of the city was entered. Multiple items including tools, a projector and brand new laptops still in the box were taken.

Break, Enter And Theft From School

Sometime on the night of August 7th, 2019, two sheds located at a school on the east end of the city were entered. Multiple items including a gas can were taken. The sheds also sustained approximately $1,000 worth of damage.
