The Guelph Police Service has been receiving calls from the public with concerns that people are failing to follow physical distancing guidelines or are failing to self-isolate for 14 days after returning from travel. We recommend that members of the public with these concerns contact WDG Public Health at 1-800-265-7293. Further information can be found on the WDG Public Health website.

On March 23rd, 2020, the Ontario government announced the mandatory closure of all non-essential workplaces effective March 24th at 11:59pm. This closure will be in effect for 14 days with the possibility of extension as the situation evolves.

If a member of the public has a question with respect to which businesses are permitted to stay open, please utilize the resources available on the Government of Ontario's website and the Stop The Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659.

If you still have a concern after reviewing these resources, please call the Guelph Police Service at 519-824-1212 and we will assess the situation accordingly. Generally, we will start with educating those failing to adhere to the law and take progressive steps towards enforcement, if necessary.
