Accused and Victim Sought in Robbery

On September 10, 2020, members of the Guelph Police High Enforcement Action Team responded to the report of a Robbery at the Old Quebec Street Mall in Downtown Guelph. 

At approximately 10:51 a.m., an unknown male victim entered the west entrance of the mall on a bicycle.  A male suspect runs into the mall and confronts the victim grabbing ahold and pushing the victim.   The suspect then punches the victim who falls to the ground as the suspect flees the scene with the victims bicycle.

Police were able to identify the suspect and have sought a Warrant of Arrest for a 38 year old Guelph male.

The investigation is ongoing as Police seek to identify the victim.

August Speed Enforcement

From August 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020, the Guelph Police Service issued 319 Provincial Offence Notices for speeding offences in the City of Guelph.   

The area bordered by Paisley Road, Hanlon Expressway, Wellington Street, Fife Road and Whitelaw Road experienced the highest number of speeding offences with 53 Provincial Offence Notices issued.

The area bordered by Watson Parkway North, Eastview Drive, Victoria Road North and York Road experienced the second highest number of speeding offences with 26 Provincial Offence Notices issued. 

The area bordered by Stone Road East, Gordon Street, Arkell Road and Victoria Street South experienced the third highest number of speeding offences with 24 Provincial Offence Notices issued. 

The Guelph Police Service regularly receive numerous driving complaints regarding speeding issues.  We make every attempt to design enforcement efforts to high complaint areas.  The Guelph Police would like to remind drivers that high speeds place us all at risk.  Please follow the speed limits and keep our streets and community safe.
