Thousands in tools stolen from van

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after more than $9,000 worth of tools were stolen from a work van.

Police were called Wednesday morning to an address in the area of Arkell Road and Ridgeway Avenue. The complainant reported their work van was entered in the driveway overnight and a large quantity of hand and power tools were stolen. The total value is estimated at $9,100.

The theft remains under investigation. Prohibited driver arrested

A Niagara Falls female was arrested after she was caught driving in Guelph while prohibited from so doing.

Just after 10 p.m., a Guelph Police Service officer queried a vehicle in the area of Wellington Street West and Waterloo Avenue and learned the registered owner is prohibited due to a recent impaired driving conviction. A traffic stop was conducted and the owner was confirmed to be the driver.

A 25-year-old Niagara Falls female is charged with driving while prohibited. She will appear in a Guelph court November 1, 2022. Her vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

 

Truck full of appliances stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a truck full of laundry machines was stolen early Wednesday.

Employees of a Pickering company noticed the vehicle missing after exiting a business on Wellington Street West near Imperial Road South. The white 24-foot 2017 Hino truck was loaded with washers and dryers picked up earlier in the morning.

The value of the machines is not known, however the truck is valued at more than $50,000.
