False Alarms

Homeowners do not have to register their alarms with the Guelph Police Service.

The Guelph Police Service deals directly with alarm monitoring stations regarding alarm management to increase the capacity for officers and 9-1-1 personnel to respond to emergencies. Alarm monitoring stations will be required to confirm whether a police response is necessary.

Guelph Police Service officers will be dispatched when an alarm is verified by the monitoring company.

False alarms will incur false alarm fees. Please refer to By-Law 149 (2013). The False Alarms fees can be found under the “Alarms” section.

Alarm monitoring stations are required to sign a Service Level Agreement with Guelph Police Service. For more information or questions, please email the Data Services Manager or call 519-824-1212, ext. 7412.
