Local File Closure
The Guelph Police Service will consider sealing non-conviction adult fingerprints, photographs and dispositions in accordance with the Guelph Police Service Fingerprint/Photograph Destruction policy.
Applying for a Local File Closure
Please submit the following to the Guelph Police Service in person or by mail:
- Completed Local File Closure Request Form
- Please include a return mailing address
- Please include payment
If you wish to mail the application, please provide payment as indicated on the request form. Please make certified cheques and money orders payable to the "Guelph Police Service".

How long will this this take?
- If approved by the Guelph Police Service, it could take up to 1 year to receive the appropriate documents from the RCMP (View the RCMP Policy) and you will receive written notification when the sealing process has been completed.
- If denied, you will have 60 days to apply for the Reconsideration Process. Applicants will be informed, in writing, of the final decision.
