The Guelph Police Service will soon be launching local use of the what3words geolocation app, which provides users with a very specific location based on a three-word ‘address’ and can help emergency services locate them more quickly.

For more information on the upcoming launch click here.

To promote the potentially life-saving app we are encouraging residents to download it on their device, and then use the app to decipher the location of 10 local landmarks using their unique what3words address below. Simply download the app for free through the App Store or Google Play, type each series of words as shown in the search bar and tell us what you find!

Once you have all 10 landmarks, simply email them to Guelph Police Service media relations assistant Megan Pfeiffer at mpfeiffer@guelphpolice.ca. All entries received by 3 p.m. EST on Friday, February 26 will be entered into a draw. The winner will be announced on Monday, March 1 which is the day we will formally launch our use of the app.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Download the what3words app for free from the App Store or Google Play.

  3. Send one email with all 10 locations to mpfeiffer@guelphpolice.ca before 3 p.m. EST this Friday
