Report Fraud

If you think you were scammed, we encourage you to report it. Reporting frauds can:

  • Prevent others from being scammed
  • Identify the types of frauds affecting people in our community
  • Alert fraud prevention partners and police
  • Help stop scams from continuing

How to report fraud

If you are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.

Online reporting

You can report online if:

  • You do not know the suspect(s)
  • Value of the theft or loss is less than $25,000

Report by phone

Please call the Guelph Police Service non-emergency line if:

  • There is a known suspect(s)
  • You have evidence in your possession
  • The value of theft or loss is more than $25,000

Helpful information

When reporting a fraud, try to include:

  • Dates and times of contact
  • Phone numbers, email addresses, user names or websites involved
  • Screenshots or photos of messages
  • Receipt numbers, transaction details or bank reference numbers
  • Names or details about any company involved
