Arrest after man slashed with broken bottle
A Guelph man has been arrested after another man was slashed in the chest with a broken bottle this summer.

Approximately 4:50 a.m. July 17 emergency services were called to a business on Macdonell Street for reports of a man with a laceration to his chest. The man told officers he had been injured during an altercation with an unknown man outside a business near Wyndham Street North and Cork Street East.
Investigation revealed the two were involved in a verbal altercation inside the business which spilled outside and became physical. One of the men grabbed a bottle from a bystander and broke it on the ground before lunging toward the victim.
The victim was transported to a Hamilton trauma centre for treatment.
On Thursday a 36-year-old Guelph man was arrested by another police service and returned to Guelph where he was charged with assault with a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing Friday. (Occurrence number GU26046912)
