Cst. Corey McArthur has exercised his right to appeal the decision of Hearing Officer M. Elbers. As the matter is presently on appeal, there will be no further comment from the Guelph Police Service.

Further to this Service’s media release posted on July 17, 2026, the full decision of Superintendent (Retired) M.P.B. Elbers, OPP Adjudicator, in the matter of Cst. Corey McArthur on the charge of Discreditable Conduct dated July 17, 2026 is now posted on our website.
July 17, 2026 Release
On July 17, 2026, the sentencing hearing for Constable Corey McArthur concluded.
The Hearing Officer ordered that Constable Corey McArthur shall be dismissed from the Guelph Police Service in seven days unless he resigns before that time.
The Hearing Officer’s decision will be posted on the Guelph Police Service website on July 20, 2026.
