High-risk offender released from custody
The Guelph Police Service would like to inform the community that Medhani Yohans, 36, who is deemed a high-risk offender, was released from custody in Guelph Provincial Court on Monday after pleading guilty to a charge of breaching his probation order.
He has a history of violence that includes two stranger sexual assaults. The Guelph Police Service believes that Yohans poses a risk to the community, particularly to women, and is concerned that he may commit similar offences in the future.
Yohans is described as a black male, 5’9”, thin build, black hair and brown eyes (see attached photos).
It is not known if Yohans will return or remain in Guelph, but he has a history in Guelph dating back to 2017. Guelph Police ask that anyone who sees Yohans not approach him, but rather notify police at 519-824-1212, in order to ensure he is abiding by his conditions.
