Man arrested for attempt murder of mother

A Guelph man faces attempted murder and other charges following a family dispute last week.

On December 21, Guelph Police Service officers were called to an address near Edinburgh Road North and London Road West. A woman in her 60s reported being assaulted and strangled. She was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

Following investigation, her 39-year-old son was arrested for attempted murder, assault with a weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, assault and breaching a probation order. He was held in custody and will appear in court December 30.
