Knife pulled during e-bike sale

A Guelph man is charged with robbery and uttering threats after another man had a knife pulled on him while trying to sell an e-bike Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 4:30 p.m. the victim attended an address on Speedvale Avenue East to sell the vehicle. The supposed buyer took the bike and refused to pay. When the seller demanded the e-bike be returned the other man picked up a knife and began chasing him while yelling threats.

A 52-year-old Guelph man was arrested for robbery and uttering threats. He will appear in court November 3.

Arrest after hallway assault

A Guelph woman was arrested Tuesday after another woman was beaten up last month in the hallway of their shared apartment building.

Approximately 10 a.m. July 13, the victim reported she was walking back to her apartment from the laundry room when she was confronted by another resident known to her. She was struck and knocked down, then punched several times in the head. She did not require medical attention.

On Tuesday evening a 35-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for assault and uttering threats. She will appear in court October 30. (Occurrence number GU26046143)

Breach charges after trip downtown

A 37-year-old man faces several charges after he was caught breaching release orders within hours of being released from custody last Friday.

Guelph Police Service officers arrested the man Friday afternoon after observing him in the downtown area of Guelph. He had been released earlier in the day from the Maplehurst Correctional Complex and is bound by several probation orders, including two with conditions he not attend certain addresses downtown.

He is also bound by a release order with a condition he not be in the downtown area of Guelph at all.

The man faces nine counts of breaching probation orders. He remains in custody and will next appear in bail court on Friday. (Occurrence number GU26050792)
