Collision Leads To Multiple Charges
On December 21st, 2025, at 8:31pm, the Guelph Police Service was notified of a minor two motor vehicle collision that had just occurred near the intersection of Speedvale Avenue West and Elmira Road North in the City of Guelph.
An adult male driver who was involved in the collision, had went around a stopped vehicle and collided with another vehicle that was backing into a residential driveway. After the collision he fled the scene, driving away to a nearby residence.
At 8:59pm, police located the male inside the residence and he was subsequently arrested.
A 57-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Impaired Operation Of A Conveyance
-Operation Of A Conveyance – 80 Plus
-Dangerous Operation
-Fail To Stop After Accident
His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He will appear in court on February 6th, 2026.
Bus Stop Assault
On December 19th, 2025, between 8:30am and 9am, an 18-year-old female victim was sitting in a bus shelter at a bus stop located near the intersection of Willow Road and Silvercreek Parkway North in the City of Guelph.
Also at the bus stop was a 54-year-old female who was known to the victim.
The victim thought she had misplaced an item in the bus shelter and began looking for it while she had her phone in her left hand.
The 54-year-old female then confronted the victim, accusing the victim of recording her and subsequently punched her in the face with a closed fist.
The victim left the area and contacted police.
At 11:53am, police located the 54-year-old female in a nearby residential building and she was subsequently arrested.
A 54-year-old Guelph female has been charged with Assault.
She will appear in court on February 6th, 2026.
The victim did not require medical treatment.
Speeding Leads To Multiple Charges
On December 19th, 2025, at 10pm, a Guelph Police Service officer performed a traffic stop with a teenaged male driving a motor vehicle near the intersection of Edinburgh Road South and College Avenue West in the City of Guelph.
The officer had used a Radar speed measuring device to determine that the male was driving 90km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was uninsured and the license plates were not being used in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Speeding
-Stunt Driving
-Use Plates Not In Accordance With The Highway Traffic Act
-Fail To Have Insurance Card
His driver’s license was also suspended for 30 days.
The registered owner of the vehicle, a 48-year-old Guelph male, has been charged with:
-Permit Use of Plate Not In Accordance With The Highway Traffic Act
-Owner Permit Operation Of Motor Vehicle On A Highway – No Insurance
The vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
Public Tip Leads To Arrest
On December 22nd, 2025, at 12:44am, the Guelph Police Service was notified of a possible impaired driver swerving as they were travelling eastbound on Woodlawn Road West near the Silvercreek Parkway North intersection in the City of Guelph.
At 12:49am, police located the vehicle as it went through a drive thru of a nearby restaurant and parked in the parking lot. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was subsequently arrested.
A 41-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Impaired Operation Of A Conveyance
-Operation Of A Conveyance – 80 Plus
His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He will appear in court on January 9th, 2026.
Multiple Driving Complaints & Motor Vehicle Collisions
Over the past 72 hours the Guelph Police Service received reports of 11 driving complaints and 23 motor vehicle collisions occurring throughout the City of Guelph.
