Male Arrested Twice For Assault
On December 23rd, 2025, at 6:20am, an adult male entered a business located near the intersection of Gordon Street and Wellington Street East in the City of Guelph.
He wandered around the store until an adult male employee asked him to leave. He refused and lingered in the store for another 15-20 minutes, until the employee confronted him again, believing that he was concealing product. He then cocked his fist back at shoulder height, causing the employee to fear that he was going to be punched. The male then finally left the store, and the Guelph Police Service was contacted.
At 6:56am, police located the male a short distance away and he was subsequently arrested.
A 29-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Assault.
He was released with a court date of February 6th, 2026.
After being released, at 12:00pm, he attended to another adult male victim’s residence located in the same area. These two males are known to each other, so the victim allowed him inside to stay out of the cold. The male began acting oddly, making the victim feel uncomfortable, so the victim asked him to leave. The male then grabbed the victim by the throat, restricting his airway. An altercation ensued, police were contacted and the victim was eventually able to push the male out of the residence.
At 12:33pm, police located the male nearby and he was subsequently arrested.
He has been charged with:
-Assault Cause Bodily Harm
-Fail To Leave Premise When Directed
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 24th.
The victim did not require medical assistance.
Impaired Driving Arrest
On December 23rd, 2025, at 6:21pm, an adult male was driving a motor vehicle eastbound on Clair Road in the City of Guelph. He was stopped in the left turn lane, facing a red light at the Gordon Street intersection.
He had just been in a nearby restaurant consuming alcohol and left after he was refused further service.
When the light turned green, he accelerated quickly crossing into the centre and curb lanes, striking the two vehicles in those lanes. He failed to stop after the collision and continued driving eastbound.
Police soon located him at a nearby residence and he was subsequently arrested.
A 42-year-old Puslinch male has been charged with:
-Dangerous Operation
-Fail To Stop After Accident
-Operation While Impaired
-Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
He driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He will appear in court on January 9th, 2026.
No injuries resulted from the collision.
Male Arrested For Breaching Probation
On December 23rd, 2025, at 8:09am, an adult male was observed inside a commercial premise located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph that he was prohibited from entering. He was removed by security.
At 8:51am, the male re-entered the premise and was again removed by security. The Guelph Police Service was then notified.
At 9:11am, police located the male in the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested.
A 30-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Breach Probation x4.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 29th.
Multiple Driving Complaints & Motor Vehicle Collisions
Over the past 24 hours the Guelph Police Service received reports of four driving complaints and eight motor vehicle collisions occurring throughout the City of Guelph.
