Delivery driver arrested for damaging intercom
An Uber Eats driver has been arrested for causing thousands of dollars in damage to a downtown condo building.
On January 9, approximately 7:20 p.m., a driver attempted several times to contact a customer using the touch-screen intercom system. He had difficulty doing so and punched the screen approximately five times, breaking it and rendering it inoperable. The screen cost more than $4,200 to repair.
Through investigation the driver was identified and Wednesday morning turned himself in at the police station. A 53-year-old Puslinch man is charged with mischief under $5,000. He will appear in court March 27. (Occurrence number GU26009605)
Lexus stolen from workplace
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a man reported his Lexus stolen from his workplace Wednesday morning.
The complainant reported his black 2024 Lexus TX350 SUV had been stolen from the parking lot of his work on Malcolm Road. The complainant reported he has both sets of keys and the vehicle’s GPS tracking system had been disabled.

The Guelph Police Service encourages residents to take steps to protect themselves from auto theft. This can include parking indoors when possible or in well-lit areas, ensuring vehicle doors and windows are closed and locked, employing anti-theft devices to prevent vehicles from being started or steered and using devices to block signals from electronic keys. Man steals more than $1,000 in cosmetics
The Guelph Police Service continues to investigate after a man stole more than $1,000 in cosmetics from a south-end business.

On January 28, the man entered a business near Gordon Street and Clair Road and entered the cosmetics section. He placed two serums in his pocket while watching a staff member before picking up a gift set. When the employee turned away the man placed two more serums in his pockets.
He paid for the gift set, but made no attempt to pay for the serums valued at $1,058.
He was described as white, 40-50 with a thin build and greying dark hair. He was wearing a dark puffy jacket, blue jeans, a white shirt and running shoes.
