Arrest after indecent act in store
A Guelph man was arrested after a reported indecent act inside a south-end business Saturday.
Just after 2 p.m. police were called to a store inside Stone Road Mall. The manager reported he observed a man masturbating with his hand inside his pants while watching a female employee. The manager confronted the man, who ran from the store and was later identified through investigation.
On Saturday evening a 19-year-old Guelph man was arrested for committing an indecent act. He will appear in court February 20.
Teen arrested after cruisers rammed
A Wellington County teen faces several charges after fleeing from police and ramming two cruisers.
Just before 10 p.m. Friday, the Guelph Police Service learned from another police service about a vehicle which rammed two of their cruisers when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
Guelph officers located the vehicle in a parking lot on Woodlawn Road East. As they approached the driver attempted to flee and collided with a fence. An officer used their cruiser to pin the vehicle in place. No injuries were reported by the driver or her three passengers.
While speaking to the driver, officers noted she was displaying signs of impairment. She was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests confirmed she had more than the legal amount of alcohol in her system.
A 17-year-old Wellington County girl is charged with impaired driving, three counts of dangerous driving, three counts of failing to stop after a collision and flight from police. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. She will appear in court January 28.
Assault under investigation
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a man reported being assaulted by three others inside a downtown establishment.
The 21-year-old reported he was inside the business with some friends approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday when he was assaulted by three men, who grabbed him by the throat and punched him in the face causing a laceration which required stitches.
The victim was removed from the business by an acquaintance and later sought medical attention.

Charges follow arrest on warrants
A Guelph man faces new charges after he was arrested by Guelph Police officers on an outstanding warrants Saturday morning.
Just before 8 a.m. officers were conducting patrols at an apartment building near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue when they located a man wanted on warrants from another police service. He was placed under arrest, and during a search officers located bolt cutters, pliers and magnets.
A 35-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing break and enter tools and disobeying a court order. He will appear in court March 3.
Slashing tire leads to arrest
A Guelph man who allegedly slashed the tire on a car he believed was incorrectly parked in an accessible parking spot has been arrested.
On Saturday evening a Guelph resident reported a tire on her mother’s car was slashed earlier in the day at Stone Road Mall. A witness had observed a man walking around the car and examining it before crouching down near the rear. The witness then heard the tire being punctured.
The suspect and his vehicle were captured on security video.
A 41-year-old Guelph man is charged with mischief under $5,000. He will appear in court February 20.
