$18k in tools stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after receiving a report that approximately $18,000 in tools were stolen on the morning of Friday, January 16, 2026.

It was reported that a Sea container, located at a south end business, was entered at approximately 2:00 AM. It was found that a hole had been cut in the fencing surrounding the business, as well as the Sea container. The items taken were power tools, mainly chainsaws and rail saws.

A red pickup truck, possibly an older model Chevrolet, was seen on CCTV leaving the area around the time of the incident.

Meat Stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after receiving a report of multiple packages of meat being stolen from a south-end business.

It was reported that on Monday evening, at approximately 5:00 PM, a female was observed by store security concealing several packages of beef under their arm. The female was observed attending to a self checkout, paying for several items, but making no attempts to pay for the meat.

When store security attempted to stop the female, they denied having any unpaid for products, fleeing the area on foot. The female is described as approximately 5' 4", white, shoulder-length dark hair; wearing a red Canadian Goose coat (hood with fur pulled up), obscuring their face, black gloves, red/black plaid pants, grey leg warmers wrapped around the knees of both legs, purple winter boots with black bottoms and white laces.

Multiple Stuck Vehicles & Motor Vehicle Collisions

Over the past 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service received reports of three motor vehicles stuck in the snow and six motor vehicle collisions occurring throughout the City of Guelph.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to slow down and follow the rules of the road and leave yourself with extra time if you need to drive in the snowy conditions to help ensure everyone arrives to their destination safely.
