Another Lincoln Navigator stolen
Lincoln Navigators continue to be popular with local auto thieves, with another one reported stolen Friday morning. It’s the third Navigator reported stolen in Guelph in as many days.
Just before 6 a.m. a resident near Woodland Glen Drive and Old Colony Trail reported her black 2025 Navigator stolen from the driveway. Security video showed two individuals arriving in a black car at 3:30 a.m.
On Wednesday a resident off Downey Road reported his white 2025 Navigator stolen from the driveway overnight. It was later recovered in Peel Region.
Thursday morning another south-end resident reported his black 2025 Navigator had been stolen from the driveway. It is not known if the thefts are related.
Also Friday morning, a resident near Kortright Road West and Rickson Avenue reported her blue Ford F250 pickup had been stolen overnight. It had a trailer attached with a personal watercraft on it.
Meanwhile, a 2026 Mercedes SUV stolen in May from a business on Woodlawn Road West was recovered this week at the Port of Montreal.

The Guelph Police Service encourages residents to take steps to protect themselves from auto theft. This can include parking indoors when possible or in well-lit areas, ensuring vehicle doors and windows are closed and locked, employing anti-theft devices to prevent vehicles from being started or steered and using devices to block signals from electronic keys. Impaired arrest after moped crash
A Guelph man faces an impaired driving charge after crashing his moped Thursday night.
Just before 11 p.m. police were dispatched to Fleming Drive and O’Connor Lane after a witness saw a moped driver swerving before hitting a curb and falling off. The witness went to assist the driver and believed him to be impaired.
Officers arrived and found the driver sitting on the moped. While speaking to him they noted a strong odour of alcohol on his breath. He was arrested and transported to the police station, where tests revealed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 55-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his moped was impounded for seven days. He will appear in court September 1.
The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to be responsible if they choose to consume alcohol and cannabis. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home. Donuts attract police attention
A Guelph teen was taken off the road after he was observed doing donuts in the parking lot of a north-end business.
Just before 9:30 p.m. a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was patrolling on Woodlawn Road East when he observed a vehicle spinning around and leaving a large cloud of white smoke outside a business.
He pulled into the parking lot and observed a strong smell of burned rubber and smoke coming from within the vehicle. After the officer reviewed security video from the business a 17-year-old Guelph boy was charged with stunt driving and careless driving.
His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points. (Occurrence number GU26050611)
