Pickup stolen from west-end business
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a pickup truck was reported stolen from a west-end business.
On Monday morning an employee of the company near Speedvale Avenue West and Elmira Road North reported a white 2005 GMC Sierra had been stolen from their lot over the weekend. Video surveillance showed an individual in a hooded sweater approaching the truck just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday. They were able to get into the truck and drive it away.
The truck contained a salt bin and some tools in the bed.

Weapons charges after warrant executed
A Guelph man faces a number of weapons charges after Guelph Police Service officers executed a search warrant at a north-end apartment early Tuesday.
As part of an ongoing investigation officers obtained a search warrant for an apartment unit neat Stevenson Street North and Speedvale Avenue East. A search revealed two airsoft guns and a set of brass knuckles. The tenant of the apartment is currently on a bail order with a no-weapons condition.
A 30-year-old Guelph man is charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a weapon and failing to comply with a release order. He was held for bail court Tuesday. (Occurrence number GU26037498)
Downtown condo entered while tenants away
The Guelph Police Service is investigating a break-in at a downtown condo building.
The building’s superintendent called police Monday evening after discovering the unit had been entered while the tenants were out of town. She was able to contact the tenants who returned home and confirmed a quantity of jewelry and cash were missing. It’s believed the unit was entered late Sunday or during the day Monday.
