Arrest after stolen vehicle located

A Kitchener man has been arrested after a stolen vehicle was recovered from a Guelph parking lot Monday.

Approximately 3:20 p.m. officers were checking parking lots on Waterloo Avenue for a stolen SUV when they observed the vehicle turning into another lot nearby. As officers approached the vehicle was observed leaving the lot at a high rate of speed with a female driver and male passenger.

The 2025 Ford Escape was later recovered in the area.

On Tuesday morning a 41-year-old Kitchener man was arrested for occupying a stolen motor vehicle. He will appear in court June 19. The investigation is ongoing. (Occurrence number GU26018991)

$10k in tools stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after approximately $10,000 worth of power tools were stolen from a trailer at a south-end business.

The owner of a business on Southgate Drive reported Wednesday a lock was broken off the trailer sometime on the weekend and tools and other items were stolen. The complainant later observed some of his items for sale on an online marketplace.

Suspended driver charged, vehicle impounded

A Guelph man had his vehicle impounded for 45 days after he was caught driving while suspended.

Wednesday night an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Wellington Street West near Imperial Road South when he clocked a vehicle going 89 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver found to be a suspended driver. A 45-year-old Guelph man is charged with speeding and driving while suspended. He will appear in court June 17. (Occurrence number GU26019354)
