Brantford man arrested for fleeing Guelph Police
A Brantford man faces several charges after the driver of a stolen pick-up fled from police in Guelph last weekend.
Just after 6:30 a.m. Sunday an officer was driving on Wellington Street East when he observed a black Dodge Ram being driven erratically and almost colliding with the marked cruiser. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the suspect fled at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the pickup was identified through security video from a nearby business.
On Thursday afternoon a 30-year-old Brantford man was charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000, flight from police, dangerous driving and two counts of driving while prohibited. He will appear in court June 16. (Occurrence number GU26019516)
Tools stolen from construction site
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after thousands of dollars in tools were stolen from a downtown construction site.
On Thursday morning police were called to an address near Wyndham Street North and Cork Street East. Sometime overnight entry to the building was gained and tools valued at approximately $3,000 – including a drywall gun, routers, an impact drill and several batteries – were stolen, along with a Macbook computer.

Arrest for breaching bail
A Guelph man was arrested Thursday after he was caught breaching a bail order.
Just before 1 p.m. officers were on an unrelated call on Fife Road when they spoke to a man and woman. Investigation revealed the man was on bail for a number of property offences with a condition he not communicate with the woman.
A 45-year-old Guelph man was arrested for breaching a bail order. He was also found to have outstanding warrants with Waterloo Regional Police and custody was transferred to them. He will appear in court on the Guelph charge June 12. (Occurrence number GU26019496)
