Arrest after south-end home invasion

A Guelph woman faces charges after a neighbour reported someone breaking into their home armed with a brick last month.

On April 19, just before noon, officers were called to a home near Kortright Road West and Ironwood Road. The caller said a neighbour had smashed a large window and gained entry to the home, confronting the victim while wielding a brick. The victim fled the house but was followed on foot by the suspect. The two are known to each other.

On Thursday afternoon a 66-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for mischief over $5,000, assault with a weapon and break and enter. She will appear in court July 17. (Occurrence number GU26025348)

 

Two riding mowers stolen

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after two riding mowers were stolen from a north-end business.

On Thursday police were called to a property near Woodlawn Road East and Muskoka Drive. The complainant owns a landscaping company and rents the property to store his equipment. A gate leading into the property had been opened after a lock was cut off and the complainant noted tire tracks just outside the fence.

Two orange Kubota zero-turn riding mowers with a combined value of approximately $28,000 were stolen.
