Arrest for spitting on five officers

A Guelph teen has been arrested after spitting on five Guelph Police Service officers last month.

Just before 5 p.m. October 26 police responded to a disturbance at an address on Waterloo Avenue. A teen approached an officer inside the home and pushed him in the chest. He was apprehended and taken to hospital for treatment where he spat in the faces of two officers and spat on another two officers’ clothing.

The teen was moved to a private room, where he spat in a third officer’s face and also spat in the face of a security guard. He was left in care of hospital personnel for treatment.

On Sunday evening he was located at a residence in the south end and arrested. A 16-year-old Guelph boy is charged with five counts of assault police and one count of assault. He will appear in court December 31.

 

Possible attempt entry to home

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after an apparent second attempt burglary at an east-end home in less than a month.

On Monday, a resident near Eastview Road and Auden Road reported finding damage to her front door, including pry marks and a cracked door frame as well as evidence the door was kicked. She reported approximately three weeks ago there was a similar incident in which she discovered damage to her door handle. No entry was gained in either incident.

Second arrest in group assault

A second teen has been arrested after another boy was beaten up by several individuals last month.

Approximately 7:45 p.m. October 9, several teens were at a school on Scottsdale Drive when one boy was struck in the back of the head and knocked to the ground. Three males then kicked him repeatedly in the head and torso, causing a chipped tooth and other injuries. He also had his hoodie torn and his vape stolen. 

A 15-year-old Guelph boy was earlier arrested for assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5,000. On Monday a second 15-year-old was arrested on the same charges. He will appear in court January 7.

The investigation is ongoing.
