Three Guelph men were arrested Wednesday after officers found evidence they have been living inside a vacant building at a downtown church property.
Officers were called to the church after staff reported the three had damaged and removed plywood boards to access the building. Alleged getaway driver arrested
A man alleged to be the getaway driver for an organized theft ring has been arrested after fleeing police earlier this year.
On May 31, a vehicle reported stolen from Mississauga was located parked outside a business on Stone Road West. Guelph Police Service officers attempted to block in the vehicle and noted a male in the driver’s seat who appeared to be watching the entrance of the business.
The driver rammed a police vehicle, drove over a curb and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. A short time later three males exited the business and were arrested. Staff believed they were attempting to steal cellphones from a display. Three Brampton men in their 30s face several charges.
The driver was identified during the ongoing investigation. On Wednesday a 39-year-old London man was arrested for possessing stolen property over $5,000, dangerous driving, flight from police and failing to stop after an accident. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday. (Occurrence number GU26035486)
