Impaired charge after multiple collisions
Four drivers were arrested for impaired driving in Guelph over the weekend, including one man who collided with three other vehicles.
Approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday police were called to Westwood Road where they found two vehicles with extensive damage. Witnesses said one of the drivers had attempted to drive away after the collision but could not due to the extent of damage. No injuries were reported to the occupants of either vehicle.
Officers spoke to one of the drivers and detected an odour of alcohol. He failed a roadside breath test and was transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system. Investigation revealed he had struck two parked vehicles before the collision which resulted in police being called.
