More than 50 charges in voyeurism investigation
An ongoing investigation into voyeurism incidents has now led to more than 50 charges against a Guelph man.
In July a 24-year-old Guelph man was arrested on two counts each of voyeurism and criminal harassment. The charges related to incidents between August 2025 and July 2026 in which a man attended several addresses in areas where university students are known to live. Investigators believe he entered unfenced backyards, approached homes and looked through basement or ground-floor bedroom windows to observe people in private settings.
The man was arrested a second time in late August and charged with three more counts of voyeurism. Officers seized clothing and electronic devices from the man’s residence.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the man was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with a further 47 counts of voyeurism. The new charges relate to incidents in Guelph and London dating back to 2021. He will appear in court October 23.
The investigation is ongoing. (Occurrence number GU26037539)

Online sales safety tips:
· Do not meet in a secluded place or invite strangers to your home. Suggest a meet-up during the day at a public location, ideally with video surveillance. The Guelph Police Service offers a Buy & Sell Zone outside the station on Fountain Street East and a second Buy & Sell Zone is available at the University of Guelph on Lang Way across from the Alumni Stadium entrance.
· Have someone come with you to the meet-up. If you can’t have someone come with you, let friends or family know where the meeting is taking place and any details about the buyer or seller.
· Take screenshots of the advertisements and any contact information provided by the other party.
· If you are the buyer, do not disclose to the seller how you will be paying if it’s not necessary. If the seller is aware you are attending with cash it creates an opportunity for a robbery to take place.
Take note of any vehicles or people associated to the transaction as it is certainly possible that the name they are using online could be false. (Occurrence number GU26070582)
