Girl arrested in pepper spray assault

A Guelph girl has been arrested after a boy was sprayed with pepper spray late last month.

Just after 4 p.m. August 30 emergency services were called to a downtown parkade. The complainant said a group of teens had gathered and were talking when he was confronted by a girl about an earlier incident. He said he was kicked while sitting down and when he tried to leave the girl followed and sprayed him in the face.

On Thursday morning a 15-year-old Guelph girl was arrested for assault with a weapon, assault, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and administering a noxious substance. She will appear in court in December. (Occurrence number GU26058425)

Stolen vehicle crashed, abandoned

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a stolen SUV was crashed Thursday evening.

Just after 7 p.m. police were called to the area of Imperial Road South and Paisley Road where a Nissan Rogue had collided with a hydro pole.

Witnesses said the male driver had fled on foot prior to police arrival. He was described as white, late 20s to early 30s and wearing a black tank top, black shorts and flip-flops. He also removed a brown leather jacket from the vehicle, which belonged to the owner, and put it on before fleeing.

A short time later a Guelph woman reported her white Nissan Rogue had been stolen from the parking lot of Stone Road Mall.

Hit and run driver arrested

A Guelph woman was arrested Wednesday more than a week after she was involved in a hit and run collision.

On Wednesday the Guelph Police Service received an online report of a collision which occurred September 8 at Edinburgh Road North and London Road after the driver of an SUV abruptly changed lanes and struck another vehicle.

Both drivers spoke briefly before one of the drivers got into her vehicle and fled. An officer reviewed security video from the area and was able to identify the suspect vehicle, which was located Wednesday at a west-end address with fresh damage.

A 46-year-old Guelph woman is charged with failing to stop after an accident, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited. Her vehicle was impounded for 45 days. She will appear in court December 11. (Occurrence number GU26062992)
