Arrest for possessing child abuse material
A Guelph man has been arrested after child sexual abuse and exploitation material was located on devices seized from his home.
Earlier this year the Guelph Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit received a tip from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children about materials located in an online Microsoft account.
In June police executed a search warrant at a residence near Gordon Street and Kortright Road. Several devices were seized for further investigation.
On Tuesday a 32-year-old Guelph man was arrested for possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, formerly known as child pornography. He will appear in court November 20. (Occurrence number GU26020618)

Arrest after three officers assaulted
A Guelph woman faces three counts of assaulting police after an altercation last month.
On August 17 the woman was in custody at the Guelph Police station for an unrelated matter. As she was being removed from her cell she became combative and attempted to kick one officer in the leg. She was transported to hospital for medical treatment, but once again became combative and scratched two officers’ forearms, breaking the skin of one officer who required medical attention.
On Tuesday a 51-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for three counts of assaulting police. She will appear in court November 13. (Occurrence number GU26056506)
Finger broken during roommate dispute
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a woman had her finger broken during a dispute between roommates Tuesday evening.
Just after 7 p.m. police were called to an apartment near Willow Road and Bagot Street. The resident reported he has been having issues with a roommate and asked the other man to move out.
On Tuesday the suspect smashed a television before trying to force his way into the complainant’s bedroom. During the struggle the complainant’s girlfriend got her finger jammed in the door, fracturing it.
