Student arrested after gun pic shared

A Guelph high school student was arrested Monday after another student received a photo of him holding a handgun.

Earlier this month the Guelph Police Service was notified of a Snapchat conversation in which one of the participants posted a photo of himself holding a gun along with threatening messages. The post was later deleted after another participant in the group chat took a screenshot of the image.

On Monday an 18-year-old Guelph man was arrested for uttering threats. He will appear in court October 27. (Occurrence number GU26062333)

East-end business break-in

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after several storage containers and vehicles were entered at an east-end business.

Monday morning the owner of a business near York Road and Watson Road South reported a man entered the property late Sunday. He gained access to storage containers and a cube van and a minor theft was reported.
