Guelph Police civilian employee charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon

On April 28th, 2026, the Waterloo Regional Police Service commenced a criminal investigation involving a 15-year civilian employee of the Guelph Police Service.

On May 31st, 2026, the civilian employee was arrested by Waterloo Regional Police Service for Robbery and Assault with a Weapon in relation to a non-work-related incident. He was released with a court date of August 25th, 2026, at the Ontario Court of Justice, 85 Frederick Street, Kitchener.

Immediately following his arrest, the Guelph Police Service suspended the civilian employee pending a comprehensive internal investigation.

As a result of the internal investigation, the civilian employee is no longer employed with the Guelph Police Service.

As the matter is currently before the courts, no further comment will be provided.
