A person was fatally struck by a train near the Guelph Central GO Station Tuesday afternoon.
The results are in, and the community has chosen the name of the Guelph Police Service’s newest police service dog.
The Guelph Police Service is hosting its annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 9. The event will be held at Guelph Police Service Headquarters, 15 Wyndham St. S. from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

On March 3, 2026, a 22-year-old male from Toronto was identified and arrested following an investigation into the luring of three female youths from Guelph.
The Guelph Police Service Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Plate to the Board. Mr. Plate was sworn in as a member of the Board on October 15, 2025. Mr. Plate was appointed to the Board by the Solicitor General as a provincial appointee for a period of two years.
