Threat involving Guelph School

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Guelph Police Service received a report of a threat involving Sir Isaac Brock Public School. The school was evacuated while police investigated and the public was asked to avoid the area. Officers found no evidence to support the threat and were able to reopen the area before 3 p.m. The investigation is ongoing. Driver facing charges after traffic stop

Officers conducted a traffic stop Wednesday evening on Silvercreek Parkway North. The driver registered a fail on a roadside breath test and was arrested. He was taken to the police station, where he refused to provide a suitable breath sample. As a result, a Stouffville man is charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, possessing more than one licence and breaching probation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to consume alcohol and cannabis responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home.
