Man facing multiple charges after refusing to leave downtown business

Guelph Police Service was called to a downtown restaurant Thursday morning for assistance removing a customer from the business. When the 47-year-old male ignored repeated requests to leave, officers attempted to escort him from the building. Once outside a struggle occurred and an officer sustained a minor injury as a result. The man was held for bail and is charged with failing to leave, engaging in a prohibited activity, assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer and resisting arrest. Suspect wanted in shoplifting incident

Guelph Police Service is looking for a female accused of leaving a west-end business without paying for merchandise. The incident occurred Thursday at approximately 2:40 p.m. in the area of Paisley Road and Imperial Road South. The suspect is described as female, 50 to 60 yrs old, medium build, 5'4'', 160 lbs, blue eyes, dyed black hair wearing a black hoodie, black vest, dark jeans, flip flops and a blue/grey ballcap with Cancun in yellow writing on the front. She was carrying a large shopping bag.
