Man arrested for stealing packages

A 28-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police were called to a north-end Guelph home for a report of packages being stolen from a porch.

Officers quickly located the man nearby and found packages from several addresses in his possession. The packages were returned to their owners. (Occurrence number GU26066833)

Vehicle entered, personal items stolen

Police were called Tuesday morning by a homeowner in the area of Stevenson Street North and Palmer Street after their bank alerted them to possible fraudulent activity on their card.

The homeowner discovered their vehicle had been entered overnight after it was inadvertently left unlocked. A bag containing bank cards, health cards and several sets of keys was missing. The cards were locked, and no financial loss was reported. The Guelph Police Service reminds residents to always lock their vehicles and never leave valuables or keys inside.
